It’s the crossover DC Comics fans have been waiting for — “The Flash” is speeding into “Supergirl’s” National City.

CBS announced the crossover Wednesday (Feb. 3), which is taking place in the March 28 episode. Details of the crossover will be announced at a later date.

“We are so incredibly excited to announce something that we have dreamed of happening since we starting making ‘Supergirl’ — ‘The Flash’ and ‘Supergirl’ are teaming up!” say executive producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg in a release. “We want to thank Grant Gustin for making the time to come visit (on top of his already immense workload) and all of the folks at CBS, The CW, Warner Bros. and DC for working this out.

“And finally, thanks to the fans and journalists who have kept asking for this to happen,” they add. “It is our pleasure and hope to create an episode worthy of everyone’s enthusiasm and support.”

The show creators have kept the crossover news tightly under wraps, telling Zap2it back in December that one was not in the works “at this point.”
