On the heels of CBS revealing that “Supergirl” will be flying on over to The CW for Season 2, the new network has announced another piece of big news — faster than a speeding bullet, Superman is coming to National City.
The announcement reads, “The iconic character of Superman will first be seen visiting his cousin Kara in National City at the beginning of the series’ second season. We are currently in the casting process for this role.”
Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg adds, “Greg, Ali and I are beyond thrilled to welcome Clark Kent and his slightly-more-famous alter ego to the world of Supergirl. Superman will be appearing in the first two episodes of the new season and we cannot wait to see who next dons the red cape!”
This isn’t *exactly* the first time Superman has been seen in some form on “Supergirl.” In the Season 1 episode “For the Girl Who Has Everything,” Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) traveled back in time via a dream in which her home planet of Krypton had never been destroyed. In the dream, she was with her young cousin, Kal-El (Daniel DiMaggio). But that was a brief glimpse and now viewers will get the Man of Steel in the flesh.
“Supergirl” returns fall 2016 on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
