Ever since Nina Dobrev exited “The Vampire Diaries,” we’ve been dying to know when she’ll return to all her buddies in Mystic Falls — and the inevitable Delena reunion that will turn the world into a squealing mess.

With rumors about Season 8 of “The Vampire Diaries” being the last, we could get our wish sooner rather than later, but honestly we’d be surprised if Dobrev had the time to swing by her old stomping grounds with how in-demand she’s been lately.

Since leaving her home on The CW, Dobrev has landed a few movie roles, the latest of which might just keep her tied up for the time being. Vin Diesel’s “xXx: The Return of Xander Cage” is sure to be yet another hit in the franchise’s long history of blockbusters, and Dobrev has snagged an adorably nerdy role in the upcoming film.

The actress even posted a sneak preview of her character, Becky, on Instagram for her fans to gush over much in the same way she seems to be gushing over Xander Cage.

Between promoting “xXx” and filming the remake of the 1990 horror movie “Flatliners,” Dobrev’s time seems to be all accounted for these days.

Don’t get too worried just yet, “The Vampire Diaries” fans. Showrunner Julie Plec has stated multiple times that she plans on bringing Dobrev and her character, Elena, back into the mix before we reach the end of “The Vampire Diaries.” Whether that’s in six months or six years, it seems like a promise the series intends to keep.

If we were you, we’d be more worried about what Elena’s potential reawakening could mean for Bonnie (Kat Graham).

We’re keeping our fingers crossed that whenever Dobrev makes her return, they find a way to keep Bonnie alive in the process, since it’s been pretty firmly established that Elena can’t wake up until Bonnie dies. Awkward.

“The Vampire Diaries” returns Oct. 21 on The CW.
