Get ready for a news onslaught “Arrow” fans, because the cast and crew are currently filming the 100th episode of the show — which also happens to be “Arrow’s” piece of the big crossover coming later in the year. Stephen Amell — the Green Arrow himself — is tweeting photos from the set of episode 100 and dropping some pretty interesting spoilers.
First and foremost, it looks like Deathstroke is back in the mix. In a photo, Amell shares a park bench with Deathstroke and looks none too pleased about it. Then again, given that his nemesis has a sword drawn, can you blame him?
If this Deathstroke is Slade Wilson (Manu Bennett), that means there’s something seriously big coming on “Arrow.” After all, the last time fans saw Slade he was imprisoned on Lian Yu. If he’s back now, that’s got to mean very bad things for Oliver and the team.
That’s not the picture that’s going to turn the most heads, though. You see, Amell tweeted a second image. In it, he poses with David Ramsey (John Diggle) and a third person who has been obscured from vision. Who is this mystery character? It’s the second photo he’s tweeted of a person that’s been painted out in regards to the 100th episode of “Arrow.”
We already know characters from “Supergirl,” “The Flash” and “Legends of Tomorrow” will likely be appearing in the episode, so it wouldn’t be much of a spoiler to have Grant Gustin or Dominic Purcell hanging around set.
So who’s Amell blocking out? That remains to be seen, but we certainly have a hopeful guess. What if episode 100 reintroduces Tommy Merlyn (Colin Donnell)? Sure, Tommy died in Season 1 but that hasn’t stopped characters from returning in the past.
After all, the Green Arrow’s latest mystery foe — Prometheus — has a link to Oliver’s past. “I will tell you that it’s going to be a shock to Oliver to find out who this guy is and what his backstory is,” executive producer Wendy Mericle previously told us. What if this particular dark archer is Tommy in disguise?
Then again, it could also be Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) making a return to Star City. While the possibility of Roy being Prometheus is tiny at best, Haynes has said in the past that he believes he’ll be back for Season 5 and the 100th episode of “Arrow” seems like a nice place to do it.
Whatever the case, the mystery remains. Stephen Amell has a secret and he’s not telling anyone. Deathstroke though, that secret seems to be out.
“Arrow” returns Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
